Kenneth Roy Cortez

Kenneth Roy Cortez, age 65, peacefully passed away at his Independence home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late, John and Leona Noble Cortez. Kenneth was a painter by trade, painting anything from homes, water towers, to government buildings, he would do it all. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, singing and playing guitar or whipping up some delicious food in the kitchen. His family will definitely miss his famous gumbo. Kenneth also loved spending time with his friends and family visiting and making lasting memories that they will cherish forever.

He is survived by his loved ones, Bailey Lassabe, Jessica Kelso, Hannah Pilcher, Kimberly Lassabe and Tonia Johnson, Carol Spell, Robert Cortez, Emily, Dominic, Jayden, Skyla, Chloe, Tyler, Cierra, Kaiden and Kaige.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Leona Noble Cortez; siblings, Odale Stephenson and Leroy Cortez; grandparents, George T. Noble and Edna McAlister Noble.
