Keith M. Williamson

Keith M. Williamson passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, in Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 53.  He was born on June 9, 1968, in Urania, Louisiana to the late Murray Don Williamson and the late Juanita Mae Sallee.  He was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana.

He was a member of Oak Grove Church of God and was employed for many years at Monsanto/Bayer Corporation in Luling, Louisiana.  Keith was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, and was a friend to many. He was strong in his faith and in his stature; he loved to help people. He had a true servant’s heart, always wanting to give where he could. Keith loved spending time with his family, especially during visits to the mountains where they enjoyed fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities together.

He was often called upon by people who needed help fixing things, and never turned anyone down. He could fix just about anything, from a computer to a tractor. He even rebuilt an old shell of a bulldozer by himself, replacing the old engine with one out of an 18-wheeler. He got many years of use out of that bulldozer, and used it to clear a large section of woods for a horse pasture so his daughter could have her own horse. Once enough land was cleared, Keith and his son built a horse barn/chicken coop together. Upon learning his in-laws had a boggy area on their property that was difficult to mow, he dug a quarter-acre pond there, fulfilling a life-long dream of his mother-in-law to have a water feature in her garden.

One of his favorite hobbies was smoking and grilling everything he could think of, such as jerky, cheese, sausage, pickled eggs, etc. He loved having housefuls of company, who would often find “care packages” of these delicacies sneaked into their vehicles when they headed back home. One of his most recent projects was reconstructing his grandfather’s old horse-driven sugar cane mill. He got it cleaned up and converted it to be hydraulically powered, and used it to make his own sugar cane syrup, which he loved to share with friends and relatives. Whatever he was cooking up, he loved to experiment with seasonings and flavors and treat guests with samples of his most recent recipes.

Keith is survived by his wife, Allyson Kinchen Williamson; son, Bowen Keith Williamson; daughter, Avery Brooke Williamson; father-in-law, Richard Kinchen; mother-in-law, Brenda Kinchen; and sister, Cynthia Williamson.

He is preceded in death by his father, Murray Don Williamson; mother, Juanita Mae Sallee Williamson; step-mother, Anneta Luehring Williamson; and siblings, Loren Williamson and Todd Williamson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
