Karen Patricia Oakley

Karen Patricia Oakley, peacefully passed away at the age of 63, on Friday, January 19, 2024, surrounded by her family after a battle with lung cancer.  She was born on September 16, 1960, to the late, Arthur Federer III and Mary Kane in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.  A collector of anything rooster, grower of plumeria flowers, and a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, she was a force to be reckoned with.  Karen loved traveling anywhere that had a beach, from the coast of Mississippi all the way up the east coast, she found somewhere to stick her toes in the beautiful sandy beaches.  She had an outgoing personality and was recently fascinated with genealogy and ancestry, to the point where she found many close relatives and made her way to meet them as far as Montana, Texas and all along the east coast.  Out of all her endeavors, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Christine Jahn (Aaron), Trisha Langzettel, John Andrew Langzettel Jr, Mary Kate Tomecek (Eric); Step-children, Gena Heath (Jarrod), Stephan Oakley, Tyler Oakley; precious grandchildren, William, Bryce, Mallory, Cole, Breanna, Seana, Chase, Blake, Lauren, Kylie, Trenton, Camden, Zachary, Sebastian, Nolan, Colston, Tanner, Jaydah, and Everleigh; as well as her siblings, Eileen Smith (Michael), Stephanie Federer and Arthur Federer IV.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur Federer III and Mary Kane, Step daughter, Chelsea Oakley.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
