Judy Lay Tye

Judy Lay Tye, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1955, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Avery E. Lay and the late Barbara Joseph Lay.

Judy was a loving mother, a wonderful sister, and a dear friend to many. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Judy is survived by her son, Jason Tye; sister, Donna Lay Arnone; and nephews, Joshua J. Arnone, his wife, Diane, and their children, Chloe and Harper; and Drake L. Arnone, his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Elizabeth. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 12:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00 pm. 

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, Louisiana.
