Judy Coates Hooter, of Pumpkin Center, Louisiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 70. She was born on Tuesday, June 3, 1952, in Hammond, Louisiana. She was a devout Christian and stayed faithful in God throughout her life. Her entire world revolved around her family. She took great pride in watching her beautiful grandchildren grow, and she was immensely proud of her four children. She had a true heart of gold, and never met a stranger. Judy was a hair dresser for 35 years, and made many friends that became like family to her. She shared a passion for decorating, florals, and watching the Saints on Sundays. She was a "fashionista", and always kept up with the latest trends. She will be dearly missed, and it will never be the same without her around.

Judy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Kirby Hooter; daughter & son-in-law, DeeDee and Eddie Newsom, daughter & son-in-law, Bridget and Mike Lancaster, son, Russell Milton, Jr., son & daughter-in-law, Brad and Lisa Milton; grandchildren, Taylor and her husband Nick Nelson, Cade Newsom, Blaine, Bradley and Braxton Greenlee, Blakely Lancaster, Hannah Milton, Austin Henderson and his wife Madison, Brock Milton, and Ella Milton; sister, Betty Coates Stewart, brother, Billy Coates; stepchildren, Josh Hooter, Troy Hooter, and Tracy Hooter. She had a very special bond with her two nieces, Terri and Kerri Stewart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Irma Coates and brother, Jerry Coates.

Judy's family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Richard Murphy Hospice House for the care and compassion she received. Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula , 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely Funeral Home Chapel - Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Wednesday from 10:00-1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
