Juanita May Joiner, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on May 12, 1948, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Juanita was a graduate of the class of 1966 Ponchatoula High School. After leaving high school, she moved to Chalmette, then Arabi, Louisiana and started working for Louisiana Power & Light Company for many years as an executive secretary. The devastation of Katrina found her living in Baton Rouge when her job required a location move. When she retired from Entergy and found herself bored, she began working for Aramark at the Dow Chemical Plant as a cook and loved it! Juanita loved her family, her friends and puttering with her flowers and QVC!
Juanita is survived by her daughter Melissa Richmond, granddaughter Danielle Broadhead and her sisters Linda Wells (Wayne), Pam Boudreaux, Debbie Kling and her brother Marvin Joiner.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Emery and Bea Joiner, her sisters, Millie Joiner and Judy Maurer and a niece, Nicole Boudreaux.
A feisty, loyal mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be missed greatly. The family is planning a Memorial Service at a later date.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Hammond. An on-line guest book is available at
