Joy Fendlason Yochim

Joy F. Yochim, a resident of Baton Rouge who was born and raised in Ponchatoula, Louisiana passed peacefully at the age of 86, Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  Joy, a homemaker, married her late husband Willard Yochim Jr. and was blessed with 5 children. Her enjoyment and skill for cooking along with the love and laughter that came with it around the dinner table, to her was a great accomplishment in life.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
 
She leaves behind her children, Willard David Yochim III, Debbie Yochim Fuselier (Dean), Katherine Yochim Spinney, Attres Yochim Tagge (Michael), Peck Norman Yochim (Tracye); 9 grandchildren, Amanda Lorio, Brian Lorio, Dathan Spinney, Kayrie Spinney Kaiser, Chris LaCombe, Michael Tagge, Elaine Tagge, Willard ”Bill” Yochim, and Halye Yochim; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
 
Joy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard David Yochim Jr.; brother, Homer Henry Fendlason; her parents, Homer Horatio Fendlason and Lily May Hebert Fendlason; and granddaughter, Shelia Lorio Valure.
 
Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Bro. Randy Ray will officiate the services with interment to follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
