Joy Peterman
Joy peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age 77. Â She was born in Southampton, England, but spent most of her life in Loranger, Louisiana. Â Joy was an Administrative Assistant for Southeastern Louisiana Universityâs Music Director for many years. Â When she was younger, Joy and her sister, Carol, loved to go square-dancing until they couldnât anymore. Â Joy also enjoyed needlepoint and was a member of the Monday Morning Crafters from Loranger United Methodist Church for fellowship and to make beautiful crafts. Â In the last few years, Joy could call her sister at anytime and they would spend the day together shopping or get into some sort of mischief. Â Joy was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her sidekick sister, Carol Coppock; nephew and niece, Frank Coppock and Cathy Hood; great-nieces and nephews, Emily, Christina, Corey, Kyle, Marisa, and Grace.
Preceding her in death was her daughter, Tammy Lynn Gann; and her parents, John and Grace Johnson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, in Hammond, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Bro. Adam Moore with interment to follow in Loranger Community Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home.
