Joshua Wayne Grabert

Joshua Wayne Grabert passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at the age of 24. Josh was born at 11:53 am on October 19, 1995 in Hammond, Louisiana. Josh loved the outdoors, but his passion was fishing. He was always purchasing new tackle that was sure to catch one bigger than the last big one he’d caught, and could most often be found on the water with his childhood best friend, Nathan Anthony. Josh was quite the pool shark, playing league pool many nights of the week. Josh had won a trip to Vegas with his skill at the table. Josh was a loving son to his mom and dad, doing all he knew to ensure they were taken care of. He often accompanied them to Red River and Bodcau to hunt hog, squirrel and deer. Josh loved sparring with his younger sister, Heather. He lovingly referred to her as his little brother, but was fiercely protective of her. Josh had a beautiful pitt he named, Tank, after the childhood dog that had kept him well protected. Josh was a friend to all who knew him, and with a servant’s heart, did anything within his power to help anyone who asked.

Josh is survived by his mother, April Jeannine Davis Grabert; his father, Troy Anthony Grabert; and his sister, Heather Raelynn Grabert; grandparents, Danny Wayne Davis; Debora Louise and Roy Paul Landry; Aunt Angela and Uncle Guy Netterville; cousin, Daniel Netterville; Aunt Andrea and Uncle Ryan LeBlanc; cousins, Matthew and Jeremiah LeBlanc; Aunt Patricia Salinas; Uncle Rodney Grabert; cousins, Devon Grabert, Shannon Cheramie, Kristy Grabert, Tina Simmons, Jenny Grabert, and Kaylin Grabert.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Brenda Lewis; grandfather, Wilton Grabert; uncle, Brian Grabert; and his aunt, Michelle Grabert.

Services will be held at The Harbor Church, 2100 Anita Blvd, Hammond, LA 70403 on Friday, October 23, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am for the public until the funeral service begins at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Oak Meadows Cemetery, 42172 Oscar Starkey Ln, Hammond, LA 70403.
