Josephine "Josie" M. Louviere

Josephine "Josie" M. Louviere, 72 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on Wednesday, March 15, 1944, in Independence, Louisiana to Santo Mike and Lucy Ditta Mike. Josie enjoyed life and loved to cook, LSU football, playing solitaire, gardening, reading the newspaper and sewing but especially loved spending time with her family.

Josie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, W.J. "Bill" Louviere, Jr., her daughter, Renee Blanchard and her husband Dennis, her sons, W.J. "Will" Louviere III and his wife Renee and  Michael Louviere, Sr. and his wife Tania and her daughter, Lisa Goings and her husband Clay, her grandchildren, Lena Newell and her husband Anthony, Christopher Blanchard, Michael Louviere II, Benjamin Blanchard, Hannah Louviere, Jennifer Blanchard, Meghan Louviere, Jordan Louviere, Joseph Louviere, Landon Goings and Adriana Louviere, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Santo Mike and Lucy Ditta Mike and her sister, Lena Hodges.

A Visitation for Josie will be from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and continue from 9:00am - 11:00am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Josie's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the church. Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes all memorial donations be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Josie's memory.
