Josephine C. Jones of Albany, Louisiana, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born on September 29, 1967, in Independence, Louisiana, to the late Mike and Mary Cangelosi.
Josephine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She loved the Lord and devoted herself to caring for her family. She was a simple lady who cherished spending time with her grandbabies. If you knew Josephine, you knew just how feisty she was.
She was a fighter who battled her illnesses for many years with courage and strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Amanda Jones; son, Caleb Jones; grandchildren, Bryar, Colsten and Paisley Jones; sisters, Nancy Herrington and Carol Gatlin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, John "Rudy" Jones, Jr.; parents, Mary P. Cangelosi and Mike M. Cangelosi; brothers, (Little) Mike Pierre, and Joe Cangelosi; nieces,Haley Cangelosi and Janet Sharp; and great-nephew, Alex Sharp.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana, 70401 on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm with Bro. Andy Stafford officiating.
Interment will follow in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be James McCarroll Sr., James McCarroll Jr., Hunter McCarroll, Ronald Easterling, Raymond Waltzer, Garrett Lea, Eddie Peters and Hunter Cunningham.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the family to help with finances.
A special Thank you and Appreciation to St.Joseph Hospice, for great care and support in the last days of her life, Michelle Montelaro, for devoting time and effort into transporting to and from chemotherapy and radiation treatments, loving and caring support system, lastly, Amanda Berne for being there to support her needs while the family had to work.
