Joseph S. Piediscalzo

Joseph S. Piediscalzo, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born on Wednesday, October 17, 1934, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Chris Piedscalzo and the late Philipine Graziano Piediscalzo. He was known as a quiet and gentle man, whose love for his family was boundless.

Joe dedicated his career to serving as an electrician at the Dupont Plant, where he worked diligently for 30 years before retiring. After retirement, Joe found joy in nurturing his passion for gardening. He tended to a beautiful garden that was a testament to his dedication and care, growing an abundance of delicious strawberries that brought delight to family and friends alike. His love for gardening was not just a solitary pursuit; he shared this passion with his great-grandchildren, teaching them the joys and responsibilities of caring for plants and the simple pleasures of mowing the grass together.

Joe leaves a legacy of love and dedication, a testament to a well-lived life. His gentle soul and nurturing spirit will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those he cherished.

“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live” -John 11:25

Joe is survived by his son, Chris Piediscalzo and his wife, Janet; granddaughter, Kaycee Colona and her husband, Art; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Carter, and Logan Colona; sister, Frances Mangano, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lena Piediscalzo, great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kate Colona, and sister, Annie Greco.
