Joseph Lobue, Jr.

Joseph Lobue, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, November 30, at his home in Hammond, Louisiana, at 2:55 AM, with his son David, his wife, Pat, and his step-son, Butch Tucker by his side, at the age of 82.  He was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1939 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Augustine Palmintier Lobue and the late Joseph Lobue, Sr.  He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Joseph was known throughout the Hammond community as a hardworking, selfless, humble, kind and soft spoken man.  He grew up in Hammond, where his father owned Joe's Bar downtown.  After graduating from Hammond High he earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi and returned home to open Channel Drugs.  Later in life, until his retirement, he was a Life Underwriter and Certified Financial Planner with New York Life.  In the 50's and 60's Joe served five years as an Air Traffic Controller in the Louisiana Air National Guard at the Hammond Airport.

In the Hammond community Joseph served tirelessly.  He was a member of Rotary, Kiwanis, and the Knights of Columbus, among many more.  He and his father were both Grand Knights of the Hammond KofC council.  He was a founding member of Krewe of Omega and Tangi Crimestoppers and also served on the Hammond Balloon Festival Committee.  He was a board member and President of Hammond Chamber of Commerce.

Besides his family, Joe had three main passions in life: dancing (which he did frequently with his wife, Pat), working out in the gym and most of all, bass fishing.  He was a TABA member and for a short time in the 1970's even fished the national BASS circuit.

In his golden years Joe enjoyed 17 years of true love with his wife, Pat Tuger Tucker, who he described as "God's gift" to him.  They loved, laughed, danced, travelled, socialized with many dear, dear friends, and lived life to the fullest.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 17 years, Pat Tuger Tucker; children, David Louis Lobue (Tracey) and Bradley Joseph Lobue (Mayumi); step-children, Tommy Tucker (Marina), Billy Tucker, Roger "Butch" Tucker (Rosie), and Wendy Tucker (Jon); grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Lobue and Rachel Audra Lobue; step-grandchildren, Dylan Tucker, Aaron Tucker, Langan Tucker, Frannie Wing, Ryan Tucker, Cory Tucker, Madison Tucker, Trysten Tucker, and Taylor Finch; brothers, Ange Lobue (Chantal), John David "J.D."
