Joseph "Joe" John Notariano

Joseph "Joe" John Notariano, 74 years old of Hammond, Louisiana passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, at North  Oaks Medical  Center.

He was born on Sunday, November 8, 1942, in Hammond, Louisiana to John Notariano and Mary Grace Lacara Notariano. 

Joe was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for Holiday Inn for 30 years and was respected and loved by everyone there. He also had a grocery business for several years "Joe's Country General Store". Joe enjoyed life and loved woodworking, carpentry, antiques and sitting on his veranda by his workshop hand feeding the squirrels and birds; also sitting under the oak tree on Sunday with his brothers and cousins at the home where he grew up. 

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Brignac Notariano, his son, Joe Notariano, his mother, Mary Grace Lacara Notariano, his brothers, Louis J. "Bootsie" Notariano, Dominick Notariano and his wife Jessie and Michael Notariano and his wife Mona, his sisters, Mary Ann McAndrew and her husband Danny and Kathy DeArmond and her husband Larry, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. 

Joe is preceded in death by his father John Notariano, his daughter, Sunny Theresa Notariano, his father in law, Ursin J. “Red” Brignac and mother in law, Estelle Melacon Brignac. 

A Visitation for Joe will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 p.m.; officiated by his nephew Fr. Augustine DeArmond O.P. Interment will follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond.
