Joseph “Joe” Anthony Bravata, age 90, took his last breath on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at his home in Hammond, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.
A beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, “Paw-Paw Joe” was a man who lived life his own way. His stubborn spirit, strong will, feisty personality, and loving heart made him who he was. He had a heart full of love for his family and those who meant the most to him.
As an avid fisherman and hunter, Joseph found some of his greatest joys in the outdoors. He especially loved rabbit hunting and spending time with his beloved dogs.
His cherished grandchildren owned a very special piece of his heart. One of his greatest joys was the weekly outings to watch his grandson play baseball. Those games represent treasured memories his family will hold close and stand as reminders of how much the little things in life can mean.
Joseph leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and moments that will never be forgotten. He will be remembered for his stubborn ways, his love for hunting and fishing, his beloved dogs, and, most importantly, the love he had for his family.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are thankful for the years we had with him and the memories that will remain with us forever. No words can truly express how much he will be missed, but the love he gave and the life he lived will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Perrin, and husband Jason, and Pamela Cox, and husband Wayne; stepson, Carter Stewart, Jr. and wife Connie; grandchildren, Brittany Harrison, Joshua Harrison, Kaya Harrison, Kaitlyn Soniat, and husband Robert, and Ryan Perrin; and great grandchildren, Nadia Meyers and Camille Soniat.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Bravata.
Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery in Independence.
