Joseph S. Dorsa

Joseph S. Dorsa, a  loving father and grandfather, of Flower Mound, Texas and former longtime resident of Arabi, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born on October 16, 1929, in Tickfaw, Louisiana, the son of the late Joseph Dorsa and Mary Gebbia Dorsa Macaluso. 

Joe is survived by his son, Donald Dorsa (Missie); daughter, Brenda Dorsa Campos (Wayne); grandchildren, Carrie Dorsa, Courtney Campos, Wayne Campos Jr., Dorian Dorsa Mullino (Zack), and Delanie Dorsa; and brother, Sam Dorsa.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lapuma Dorsa; infant son, Craig Dorsa; and siblings, Lena Mae Amato, Annie Dorsa, Lucille Musacchia, Angelina Mussachia, Josephine Fuller, Virginia Inzinna, Rosalie Salomone, Sandra Gebbia, Nick Macaluso, Larry Macaluso, Nace Macaluso, Joe Macaluso, Anthony Macaluso, and John Dorsa.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466 on Friday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Mike Galea officiating.

Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
