Joni Shantel Fricano

Joni Shantel Fricano passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, in Tickfaw, Louisiana, at the age of 36. She was born on Thursday, January 10, 1980 to Josie "Faye" LaRocca Fricanoand Johnnie Fricano Sr. and resided in Independence, Louisiana.

Joni is survived by her parents, Josie "Faye" LaRocca Fricano and Johnnie Fricano, Sr.; one son, Christian Fricano, two daughters, Destiny Fricano andShantel Power; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Albert LaVigne, sister, JanetFricano and partner, Gary Marmillion, and brother, Johnnie Fricano, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Frank and Betty Fricano; aunt, Linda Fricano, aunt and Godmother, JaniceFricano, uncle, Frankie Fricano, Jr., aunt, Sharon Lynn LaRocca, and aunt, Gayle LaRocca Miller; nephew, Anthony Gunterman, niece, Sharell Gunterman, niece, Heather LaVigne, nephew, Jason Collins, and niece, Hayle Marmillion; lifelong friend, Joseph "Junior" Viola, Jr.; and closest cousins, Lance and Derrick Miller, David, Darrell, and Brandon McDonald, and Russell Chambers. Also survived by numerous loving cousins, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Louis and Wanzie LaRocca; uncle and Godfather, Louis "Russell" LaRocca; and aunt, Christie Carrol LaRocca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be begin at 9:30 am and continue until service time.

Serving as pallbearers, Randy Purvis, Randall Purvis, Anthony Gunterman, Jason Collins, Lance Miller, and David McDonald; and honorary pallbearers, Darrell McDonald, Brandon McDonald, Derrick Miller, and Russell Chambers.

Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum, Independence, Louisiana.
