Jonelle Marie Thompson, a resident of Garyville, LA passed away on August 17, 2022, at the age of 49. She was born on September 6, 1972, in Baton Rouge, LA to William âArtâ Lea and Brenda McDonald Lea.Â
Jonelle lived most of her life in Albany, LA, and graduated from Albany High School in1990. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University and then following in her motherâs footsteps by attending Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School, where she graduated in 1994. She retired in 2019 from the LA Department of Health and hospitals, Health Standards. She was a natural-born caregiver who loved her career in nursing and helping anyone she could with their medical needs.Â
Jonelle was a fiancé, mom, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She loved anything purple and gold representing her beloved LSU Tigers. She also loved camping, boating, skiing, and fishing.Â
Jonelleâs greatest joy was her 3 sons, Landon, Peyton, and Brennon, as well as her 2 grandsons, Caden and Noah. She loved watching them play sports. They were her favorite players and she their biggest fan.Â
Jonelle is survived by her fiancé, Stephen Marse; her son, William Brennon Thompson and his dad Buddy Thompson; her two grandsons, Caden and Noah Stewart; her father and step-mother, Art and Maria Lea; her sister, Kaitlyn Lea McMorris and husband Cody; her brother, Garrett Lea; her nieces and nephew, Annie Kait Kinchen, Wren Lea, Blakelyn and Kayden McMorris; her grandmother, Beatrice Hoover Lott; her dearest friends, Kate Palisi and Belinda Quin, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Â
Preceding Jonelle in death are two sons, Landon Kyle Stewart and Peyton Lea Stewart; her mother, Brenda McDonald Lea; her grandparents, Dallas and Effie Landry McDonald; grandfathers, James Elliot Lott and Leo Luke Lea.Â
Pallbearers are Garrett Lea, Matthew Lea, Aaron Lea, Cody McMorris, Lyman Pauli, and Dylan Marse.Â
Friends and family will be received in the church hall at St. Margaretâs Catholic Church, Albany, LA  on Saturday, August 20, 2022, beginning at 11:00 am until the funeral mass at 1:00 pm, with Father Jamin David officiating.Â
Interment will be in St. Margaretâs Church cemetery.
