Jonathan Michael Thomas

Jonathan Michael Thomas passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Independence, Louisiana, at the age of 37.  He was born on Thursday, December 19, 1985 in Covington, Louisiana to Karen Vial Hodges and the late Rick James Thomas.  He was a resident of Albany, Louisiana, where he lived with his sister, Shantel.

Jonathan is survived by his mother & step-father, Karen Vial Hodges and Ken Hodges; grandmother, Theresa Hodges; brother & sister-in-law, Rick L. Thomas and Cassie Thomas; sister & brother-in-law, Shantel Thomas Williams and Tim Williams; girlfriend, Brittney Renee Herring; nephews, Landon Williams and Tristan Thomas; nieces, Avery Thomas and Kinleigh Thomas; aunts, Kay Morganti, Pat Reitz, Michelle Cardenas, Darlene Stewart, Mary Mastrapolito, Deb Thomas, Kathy Thomas, Terry Claycomb, Karen Rittner, Nanette Clark, and Audrey Fung; uncles, "Tiger" Erwin Vial, Michael Ryan, Richard Hodges, Tommy Hodges, Larry Thomas, Johnny Mastrapolito, Bernard Thomas, James Thomas, Jeff Thomas, and Scott Thomas; cousin and best friend, Mark Thomas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rick James Thomas; sister, Lacie Marie Randall; grandparents, Jimmy Thomas, Evette Thomas, Katherine Volpi Vial, Erwin Hotard Vial, Sr., Dick Hodges, and Anne Kozar Mastrapolito; and aunts and uncles, Kathy Williams, Kellie Vial Crimmons, Kerrylee Thomas, Ronnie Mastrapolito, Anita MaCammon, and Mark Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Friday, September 29, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
