Johnnie Allen Johnson

Johnnie Allen Johnson was born May 26, 1931, in Independence, LA to the late Leslie Allen Johnson and Hattie Bankston Johnson.  He passed away August 10, 2021, at his residence in Independence, LA at age 90.  Johnnie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and a retired Forestry Technician for International Paper Company with over 40 years service.  A U.S. Korean veteran, Johnnie also served on the board of directors with Livingston Parish Gas Company and 4th Ward Water Works.  He is survived by his son, Tim Johnson (Colinda); sister, Marlie Cutrer; grandsons, Kyle Johnson (Meagan) and Kolt Johnson; granddaughter, Jamie Tovar (Omar); great granddaughters, Samantha Jones and Gracie Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death of by his wife of over forty years, Joan Thibault Johnson; son, Alan Johnson; brothers, Clyde and Carl Johnson.  Visitation will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, LA after 10:00 am until religious services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Bankston Cemetery, Independence, LA. Face mask are required to attend visitation and services.
