John Morris Wells

John Morris Wells, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born on Tuesday, February 21, 1933, in Imboden, Arkansas, the son of the late Frank Stuart Wells Sr. and Audrey Morris Wells. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as an Aviation Machinist's Mate during the Korean War. He had a passion for aircraft and while serving in the military he would trade his mechanic work for lessons on flying. He then attended Texas A & M University and received an Agricultural Pilot Certificate. John loved spending time with his family, flying planes, fishing, and restoring antique cars. He is a longtime member of the Golden Oldies Motor Club of Louisiana and has received much recognition for many of his restored cars.

John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sciortino Wells; his sister, Kathleen Wells Heath; his children, John Michael Wells (Kimberly), Audrey Wells Kafkallides (Chris), Deborah Wells Quantrille (Brett), and Melanie Wells; his grandchildren, Demetris Kafkallides, Alexandros Kafkallides, Stefanos Kafkallides, Andreas Kafkallides, Duncan Quantrille, Isabel Quantrille, and Oliver Sauter Wells; his great grandson, Lucas Quantrille; step children, Gasper Sciortino (Debbie), Diane Sciortino Singletary (Lester), Joann Sciortino Landry (Jerry), Michael Sciortino (Cherie), and Samuel Sciortino (Mary); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Ana Flora Alvarado Wells, and siblings, Frank Wells, Lewis Wells, and Nettie Wells.
