John "J.T." Guzzardo passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87. He was born on Wednesday, November 5, 1930 in Independence, Louisiana. He was a resident of Independence, Louisiana and proud owner of Hi-Ho Barbecue. J.T. also served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an incredible man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
"J.T." is survived by his daughter, Debbie Husser and her husband Ronnie; son, John "J.T." Guzzardo; siblings, Fannie Schittone, and Josie Louise "Lou" Macaluso and her husband Nick; grandchildren, Brett and Nicole Husser, Chris and Kallie Husser, and Ayla and Shanna Guzzardo; and great-grandchildren, Brant, Landon, Aubrey, Grayson and Kinsley Husser.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Paulina Guzzardo; son, William "Billy" Guzzardo; father, Joseph S. Guzzardo; mother, Sadie Spitale Guzzardo; and two brothers, Sam J. Guzzardo and Tony Guzzardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA 70401 on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 609 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in Colonial Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
