Mr. John Dominick Locicero, 76 of Hammond, LA., passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Hattiesburg, MS. John was born November 8, 1941 in Hammond, the youngest boy, and 7th of 9 children to Joseph & Nellie Locicero. He grew up on the family farm, where a wide range of vegetables, strawberries, and more were raised and sold. John also loved to ride horses and fish in his spare time, and was later a charter member of the TABA Bass Club. As a young man, he learned how to butcher from his uncle, and spent a few years cutting meat for A&P. Later, he worked for Exxon Plastic in Baton Rouge before settling in with Johnson General Painting, where he painted and installed drywall. He has battled some health issues over the past few years, even winning some along the way. He enjoyed getting out and about, visiting the casinos with his daughter, or going places with his son, whenever he could. John, or "Big John" if you knew him well, is remembered as a fun-loving man with a great sense of humor, a loving father and grandfather who loved to laugh, and definitely lived life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Joseph & Nellie, and two brothers, Pete and Tony Locicero. Left to cherish his memories are his three children: daughters Gina (Brian) Baudean of Ocean Springs, MS, and Anna Nuccio of Ponchatoula, and one son, John (Angela) Lociccero of Petal, MS; brothers Joe, Frank (Joann), and Andrew Locicero (Barbara), all of Hammond, Sam (Barbara) Locicero of Baton Rouge, and two sisters, Josephine (Rob) Andrews of Mesquite, TX, and Ann Duthu of Houma, LA; six grandchildren: T.J. Summers, Karley (Taylor) Alford, Lana and Luke Locicero, and Hannah and Matthew Nuccio; two great-grands, Laney and Tucker Alford; with numerous nieces, nephews, and untold friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA, from 9:00 am until the funeral service 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Holly Gardens Hammond, LA.
