On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Joelle Esther Bitoun Amedio was called home at the age of 59. Joelle was born August 13, 1966, and was a lifelong resident of Louisiana, living in Marrero, Westwego, Kenner, and most recently Hammond with her loving fiancé, Scott Frischhertz.
Joelle is survived by her devoted companion and fiancé, Scott Frischhertz, and his loving children, Amanda Frischhertz Tassin (Timothy), Scott David Frischhertz Jr. (Sarah), and Cody Alton Frischhertz (Quinlyn). Joelle is also survived by Scott’s wonderful grandchildren, Mila, Lucca, and Palmer, whom she loved dearly. Daughter of the late Jacques Bitoun and Lydia Rose Burgess. Joelle will also be greatly missed by her siblings, Mimi Cheramie, Jackie Bitoun, Theresa Bitoun, and Michael Bitoun. In addition to the Frischhertz and Bitoun family, Joelle was beloved by the extended Amedio family, her many nieces, nephews, friends, and her two godchildren, Lawrence Amedio Jr., and Sara McGrath.
Throughout her life, Joelle was the life of the party. She was always the first person to offer to help throw a party and loved bringing a smile to the faces of her family and friends. She also loved the joy of the Christmas season with lights, music, and decorations. She especially loved decorating with her Grinch collection, which the children in her life loved to see! To everyone who knew Joelle, she was the kindest and sweetest person, who loved to support everyone in her life.
Joelle will be greatly missed by everyone who she touched throughout our life. Joelle’s family and friends invite all to attend her visitation and funeral on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 N Oak St, Hammond, LA, from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM (open visitation) with a funeral mass to follow. The burial will follow the funeral mass at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.
Joelle was an advocate of organ donation since she was a recipient herself. Therefore, the family requests that you consider making donations in her name to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA) at https://www.lopafoundation.org/ or you consider becoming an organ donor yourself.
