Joe Mason Peacock

Joe Mason Peacock, 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Hammond Nursing Home, after losing his courageous battle with brain cancer. A long-time resident of Hammond, Louisiana, Joe was born on Thursday, March 31, 1949, in Indianola, Mississippi to Louise Bennett Peacock of Jonesville, Louisiana and Joe Buford Peacock of Dumas, Arkansas. He grew up in Belzoni, Mississippi, and received his bachelor's degree in Communications (radio and t.v.) from the University of Southern Mississippi. Joe loved cooking, fishing, playing popular music, and helping others in need.

Joe leaves behind his sister, Caroline Elaine Peacock of Hammond, and numerous friends who will dearly miss his sweet sense of humor and his very kind and generous nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Joe Buford Peacock.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the First Presbyterian Church, 111 N Pine St, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.

Flowers are welcome. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in memory of Joe.
