Joe Akers

Joe Akers passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at the age of 56. He was born on Friday, November 29, 1963, in Miami, Florida. Joe was a hard working, dedicated family man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a compassionate friend to anyone in need and never met a stranger. He also loved to cook and could fix anything on wheels. Joe was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jamie Akers; children, Daniel Akers and his wife Ashley, Laura Abadie and her husband Anthony, Katelyn Akers, Patrick Akers and Gabrielle Akers; grandchildren, Davin and Peyton Wieland, Cameron and Tyce Akers, and Dylan and McKenzie Abadie; sisters, Charlotte Richardson, Brenda Baillie, Linda Alvarez and Tracy Eckert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Margaret Baillie; and son, Joel Wieland.

A Memorial Service for Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401.
