Joann Leila Bennett Powell

Joann Leila Bennett Powell, from Robert, LA, passed away to be with her Heavenly Father on July 9, 2020 just shy of her 75th birthday.

Joann was a beautiful gift from God to all who knew her. If you needed anything or if she thought you needed anything, she would do her best to get it for you, her love for you ran deep and true. Her most precious gift of all was her kind loving heart that would lift you up in prayer each and every day. Joann will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby Bruce Powell, daughter, Beverly L. Powell (Scott Lemoine), sons, Brian B. Powell (Christy), Barry D. Powell Sr. (Marie), nine grandchildren, Desirae Flanagan, Brian Michael Powell, Barry Powell Jr., Morgan Miller, Devin Powell, Shay Powell, Nathan Weir, Caleb Lucas, and Irma Shelby Hyde, three great-grandchildren, Ryliegh Paige Powell, Jared Tate Flanagan, and Jaxson Kyle Flanagan, brother, Jerry Bennett, sister, Jeannie Smith(Buck).

She was preceded in death by her parents,Melton and Marie Perrin Bennett, brother, Bruce Bennett, and her foster son, Kelly Dykes.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Monday, July 13, 2020 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel in Ponchatoula, on Monday beginning at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at the Joiner Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.

During the visitation social distancing and wearing a face mask are strongly recommended.
