Joan Starns Sirchia was a dedicated woman of faith who was devoted to her church and family. She was the kind of mother, mother-in-law, and maw-maw who would do anything for you. From canning and freezing all the vegetables her husband grew in his garden to preparing delicious meals for her family, she was always busy caring for others. She took pride in her work and enjoyed the years she spent working. She equally enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Her selflessness and caring were felt by all who love her. When her health necessitated she quit driving, she used the funds from the sale of her car to take a trip that included her first plane ride. She loved being able to travel, and that adventure was special for her. She loved baseball and was able to travel to Houston to see the Braves play the Astros on more than one occasion. While she was a hard worker, she did take time for herself on occasion. It was common to see her take a Sunday afternoon nap on the sofa in front of the TV. She loved ice cream and often finished the day with a nice bowl to end the evening. She was an amazing woman who means the world to us, and we will greatly miss her physical presence in our lives.
