Jerry Wayne Myers passed away at North Oaks Medical Center surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the age of 75. He was born on Wednesday, July 19, 1944, in Hammond, Louisiana. Jerry was a retired teacher and coach. All the students he taught and coached meant so much to him. He also enjoyed attending Saints and Pelicans games and was a lifelong resident of Hammond.

Jerry  is survived by his wife, Gwen Meador Myers; sons, Ward C. Pevey and his wife Sunny and William T. Myers and his wife Melissa; brother, Gene G. Myers and his wife Genelle; grandson William T. Myers Jr. "the light of his life"; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemons H. Myers and Viola J. Myers; brother, Oliver Myers; and his two special fur-babies, Valentine and Holly.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 9:00 am until the Memorial Service begins at 11:00 am at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, La. 70401.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
