Jerry Dale Dunnington

Jerry Dale Dunnington passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Jerry was a current resident at the VA home in Monroe and passed at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe. He was born on Monday, December 15, 1941 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Beatrice Harper Dunnington and the late Lawrence Dunnington.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Rupert Dunnington; son, Todd Dunnington (Angela); grandson, Jose Dunnington; nieces and nephews, Randy Harper, Cindy Williams Coats (Matthew), Rhonda Harper McMichael (Phillip), Sandra Williams Wyatt (Jimmy), Shannon Estess Arnold (Jeffrey), Bart Rupert (Natalie), and Nick Rupert; sister-in-law, Karen Rupert Estess (Bill); brother-in-law, George Rupert, Jr. (Pam); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is also preceded in death by his sisters, Nettie Lou Dunnington Williams (Earl Stein) and Carol Ann Dunnington Harper (Douglas); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sue and George Rupert, Sr.; nephew, Sammie Lee Williams, Jr. (surviving, Jean); niece, Brenda Anne Williams Greer (Randy); and great-nephew, Steven McMichael.

Pallbearers for Jerry will be Jeffrey Arnold, Billy Mount, Lawrence "Larry" Williams, Jimmy Wyatt, Matthew Coats, and Cody Coats, as well as honorary pallbearer, Jose Dunnington.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment and military honors will follow in Lanier Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
