Jerry Joseph Decker

Jerry Joseph Decker, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on February 17, 1940, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Joseph Reid Decker and Amy Jones Decker. 

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Rochell Decker and Cynthia Morgan (Jerry Morgan Jr.); grandchildren, Ashley Jackson (Jeremy), Douglas Hawkins (Ellie), Alyssa Browning (Robert), Caleb Coats (Jacquline), Kayleigh Coats, Stoney Morgan, Somer Smith (Calvin), and Jeremy Foster; great grandchildren, Stormi Jackson, Raini Jackson, Maddix Browning, Cashe Browning, Jessi Coats, Jayden Coats, Everleigh Haley, Riley Kulick, Alexis Smith, and Hunter Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley May Cooper Decker, great grandson, William Smith, sister, Monette Nicholas, brother, Roland Reine.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, with a Funeral Service will at 2:00 pm, with Deacon Tim Messenger officiating.

Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond, Louisiana.
