Jennie E. Hughes

Jennie Ellen Hughes, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on Wednesday, October 21, 1953, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late John William Hughes and Carolyn Bell Hughes.

Jennie is survived by her daughter, Amanda Calkins (Dean); son, Justin Hughes (Sara); grandchildren, Ian (Kayla), Kyle (Marly), Aaliyah Harper (Logan), London Calkins (Will), Blake, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Charlie, Brylee, Roman, Kyleigh, Grant, and Hattie; and siblings, Vickie McCarroll Hughes and Carol Ann Hughes.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her brothers, William Paul Hughes and Thomas Eugene Hughes.
