Jay Ray Reynolds

Jay Ray Reynolds passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Holden, Louisiana, at the age of 66. He was born on Sunday, March 6, 1960 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Thelma Gehbauer Reynolds and the late Joseph Reynolds. He was a resident of Holden, Louisiana. Jay was a hard worker, and was proud to have worked his way from a scaffold builder all the way up to a shift manager due to his amazing leadership qualities. Jay retired after 32 years. He loved to fix things, and could build just about anything with his wood working skills. Jay was a member at Albany First Baptist Church and he loved working with the church at the Baton Rouge Food Drive to help feed the needy. He was also an avid fisherman.

Jay enjoyed talking and being around people. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. More than anything, he loved his family, especially his wife and his daughter, who were his whole world.

Jay is survived by his wife, Tammy Gordon Reynolds; daughter, Gabrielle Reynolds Gawlik & her husband, William; sister, Carolyn Reynolds; mother-in-law, Beatrice Gordon; brothers-in-law, Chris Gordon and Mark Gordon; and aunt, Adele Gehbauer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Reynolds; mother, Thelma Gehbauer Reynolds; father-in-law, Sylvester Gordon; and two uncles, Al Gehbauer, Hank Gehbauer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in James Chapel Cemetery, Holden, Louisiana.
