Janice Morgan

Janice M. Morgan passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 79. She was born on January 31, 1945, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Wiley J. McAlister and Addie O. Sibley. She was a resident of Holden, Louisiana. 

Janice was a loving mother, an extraordinary grandmother, and a remarkable great-grandmother. She was a dedicated caregiver and cherished spending time with her family. Janice had a big personality and loved to have fun, no outfit was complete until she had her jewelry, pink-coral lipstick, and blue eyeshadow on. Janice was a character and she will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Janice is survived by her daughters; Carrie Morgan, Stephanie Morgan, and Patty Redmond (Neal), grandchildren; Brandon Morgan, Neal Redmond Jr. (Holly), Shelby Martin (Trevor), Janice E. Morgan, and William T. Morgan; great-grandchildren, Shelby Morgan, Dixie Ashworth, Mackenzie, Nealy, and Faith Redmond; sister, Charlene Walton; brothers, Donald McAlister (Sandy) and Patrick McAlister (Evelyn). 

She is preceded in death by her daughter; Linda Morgan, husband, and father of her children; John A. Morgan, parents; Wiley J. McAlister and Addie O. Sibley, sisters; Teresa Durr, Pansy Joy Marler, and Juanita Thompson, brothers; Wiley “Buddy”, Douglas, Ted, Mike and Keith McAlister, former husband; Joseph Lupo, and life partner; Houston “Hutch” Hutchinson. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
