Janet Ragas Sambola

Janet Ragas Sambola, age 69, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at East Jefferson General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Fabien and Gertrude Ragas. She was an assistant teacher at First United Methodist Church for 22 years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, making lasting memories they will cherish forever. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Mark Sambola Sr.; children, Lindsay Marlbrough (Matthew), Cody Sambola (Julianne), Melissa Sambola, and Mark Sambola Jr.(Cortney); and her precious grandchildren, Evan, Avery, Blake, Addisyn, Everleigh, Charlie, Maggie and Millie.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fabien and Gertrude Ragas; and her siblings, Ronnie Ragas, Linda Ragas, Fabien "Sonny" Ragas, and her twin sister, Janice Bernard.

The family will hold a Service on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2200 Rue Denise in Hammond, Louisiana 70403.
