Janet Pauline Ferrara DiGiovanni

Janet Pauline Ferrara DiGiovanni, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born on November 5, 1952, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Charles Ferrara Sr. and Angie Gill Ferrara.

Janet is survived by her children, Angie Lacoste (Timothy), Josie DiGiovanni, and Joseph DiGiovanni Jr. (Laureen); grandchildren, Giovanna Dufrene, Timothy E. Lacoste, Joseph DiGiovanni III, Corbin Lacoste, Sophia DiGiovanni, and Mac DiGiovanni; siblings, Pam Manchack, Charles Ferrara, and Michael Ferrara; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph DiGiovanni Sr. and sister, Charlotte Ferrara.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Thursday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Rueben Dykes officiating.

Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
