Janet Lynne Billingsley

Janet Lynne Billingsley, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 57. She was born on May 3, 1966, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Janet proudly served her country for 9 years in the U.S. Army National Guard as a medic. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University working toward a degree in social work and worked as a psychiatric technician at the Louisiana State Hospital in Mandeville. Janet had a passion for helping people and caring for animals. She will be remembered for her big heart and her smile that lit up a room.

Janet is survived by her mother, Nancy Anne Brighton; step mother, Luanne Billingsley; sisters, Gina Blanes (Juan) and Kristin Billingsley McLellan (Jim); step brothers, Shawn A. McKee and Wilson Alvarez (Josef); nieces and nephews, Isabella Blanes, Julian Blanes, John Paul Toney, and Drew Avery McKee; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul L. Billingsley; and grandparents, Earl and Alvera Billingsley and David and Geraldine Getzoff.
