Jami Pat Arthur Burns

Jami Pat (Captain one eye) Arthur Burns, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at the camp, on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on Monday, October 15, 1956, in Hammond, Louisiana. Jami was a true outdoorsman at heart, he could most often be found on the water, chasing sunsets and soaking in the simple joys of life. His greatest pride was his children and grandbabies, whom he loved deeply. A free soul through and through, he lived life on his own terms, never met a stranger, and always knew how to make any gathering a good time. He leaves behind a legacy of love and an adventurous spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Jami is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jami Pat Burns and Blake Burns, son, Jacob Burns, mother, Lillian Tucker Burns; grandchildren, Bennett James Burns and Frankie Rae Burns; brother, Darren Burns.

He was preceded in death by his father Pat Burns and his brother Yancey Burns.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, in Ponchatoula, on Saturday, June 13, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The family will be sharing memories of Jami in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Wetmore Cemetery.
