James Richard Mckigney

James Richard McKigney passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 71. He was born on Thursday, October 11, 1951 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Helen Colkmire Armond and the late Russel Bray McKigney. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. James worked both as a carpenter and offshore. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water, in his boat given to him by his grandfather at an early age.

James is survived by his wife, Janet McKigney, brothers, Russel Bray McKigney (Hollie), Brian Keith McKigney (Valorie), and Aaron Mark McKigney, sisters, Melvina Lawson (Eric), Alice Gauthreaux, and Barbara Chittenden (Eddie), sister-in-law, Ann Ciampa, brother-in-laws, Charles (Beth) and Donald Ciampa, niece, Angela Ciampa Germany (Tim), nephews, Charles, Jr. (Michelle) and Jonathan Ciampa, great-nephew Christopher Ciampa and his great-niece Haley, Ciampa.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Colkmire Armond; father, Russel Bray McKigney; step-father, Paul Armond; grandparents and adoptive parents, T.S and Liz McKigney; and great nephew, Brock Ciampa.

Services were held at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11:00 am.
