James “Jim” Robert Lemons, Jr. left this earthly world on Sunday, May 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Independence, Louisiana. He was born on April 30, 1969, in Louisville, Kentucky, to James Robert Lemons, Sr. and Carolyn Miller.
Jim worked for many years in the construction industry, beginning as a blaster/painter and concluding his career as an estimator/planner with Turner Industries. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, and being surrounded by nature brought him peace, especially in the bluegrass hills of Kentucky.
Jim loved learning and researching new topics and ideas, whether searching for information about a unique coin or exploring the latest conspiracy theory. In his younger years, he enjoyed drawing and hunting, but as he grew older, he especially loved playing a good game of golf. He could often be found cutting up and carrying on wherever he went, and his contagious laugh brought smiles to those around him.
Music was a large part of Jim’s life. Singing and playing his guitar brought him immense joy. He also loved cooking, whether outside on the grill or indoors with his beloved cast-iron pot, and he certainly knew his way around the kitchen.
Jim made the most of every moment and lovingly passed that trait on to his children and grandchildren through his goofy personality, playful sense of humor, and the wisdom he shared as “Dad.” He was most proud of his children, grandchildren, and future grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy for generations to come.
Whether you knew him as “Jim, Jimmy, or Jimbo”, he was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim leaves behind his children, Kaira Tamplain (Neil), Kain Robert Lemons (Cayla), and Kassidy Lemons (David); his grandchildren, Charlee, Karter, Kooper, Kannan, and one on the way, Kyler James; his mother, Carolyn Miller; his sisters, Sandra Myatt (Garry), and Pamela Martin; the mother of his children, Janine Bush; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his triplet daughters, Kaleigh, Kaitlynn, and Kayla Lemons; his grandson, Karsen Robert Lemons; his brother, Jamie Lemons; his father, James Robert Lemons, Sr.; and his grandparents, Edgar and Dorothy Combs, Floyd Lemons, and Mamie Ford.
