James H. Sharp Jr., age 93, of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond with his family by his side. He was born on Friday, October 22, 1926, in Clio, Louisiana, to James H. Sr. and Alice Wilson Sharp. James was a Millwright with the Millwrights Machinery Erectors Local Union No.720 in Baton Rouge and a Pastor for 25 years at Killian Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Killian. James enjoyed life and loved flying airplanes and tinkering around his shop, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
James is survived by his sons, Jimmie Sharp and his wife Mary, Ronnie Sharp and his wife Margie and Wayne Sharp and his wife Virginia, his grandchildren, Jimmie Ray Sharp, Stacey Sharp, Ronnie Sharp and his wife Tricia, Jesse Sharp and his wife Kerra, Aaron Sharp and his wife Paige and Dean Sharp and his wife Mandy, numerous great and great great grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Sr. and Alice Wilson Sharp, his wife, Myrtle E. Lewis Sharp and his brothers, W.J. Sharp and Herman Sharp.
A Visitation for James will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating James' Life will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Davidson Cemetery in Killian.
Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
