James "Corky" Barker

James "Corky" Barker passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87.  He was born on Tuesday, May 5, 1931 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Ida Byrel Blue and the late James Nathaniel Barker.  He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

James is survived by his brother, Raymond Barker (Dorothy); daughter, Carol B. Millet (Jewel); son, Keith Allen Barker; granddaughters, Bronwyn Bankston (Graye), Melissa Collins, Blythe Millet, Jessica Millet (Bryan); grandson Jared Millet (Julie); great-grandchildren, Gabi and Grayson Bankston, Destiny Collins, Eric Barker, Adara Kennedy, Leah and Brennan Eberhardt, and Jack and Max Millet, great-great-grandchild, Edward Young.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Boykin Barker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018, 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. The memorial service for James will begin at 8:30 pm.

James will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm the following day at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
