Jacob Moreau Kinchen

Jacob Moreau Kinchen, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the age of 46. He was born on June 15, 1980, in Metairie, Louisiana. Jacob was, first and foremost, a loving father that adored his children. His family was his heart, and his children were at the center. Known for being loud and funny, Jacob had the ability to uplift any room just by walking into it. He was the true life of the party, radiating joy and welcoming everyone with an infectious smile. Those blessed to call him friend, or even to cross his path, felt at home in his company. Jacob was admired as a hard worker, with a “git-r-done” attitude that inspired respect and teamwork among his peers. A passionate sports fan, his loyalty to the Saints never wavered. Jacob was one of a kind and he will be missed dearly. To celebrate Jacob’s lively personality and the legacy of joy he leaves behind, the family requests that no one wear a suit to the service. Instead, they ask everyone attending to embrace Jacob's colorful spirit by dressing in loud clothing, with Hawaiian shirts especially preferred.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Jeanette & Chad Kirkfield; son, Jacob Moreau Kinchen, Jr.; daughter, Taylor Kinchen; siblings, Benjamin Kinchen (Victoria) and Hannah Penton (Morgan); niece and nephews, Abigail, Andrew, Samuel, and William; partner, Ashley Chauvin and her children, Brady, Brantley, and Claire; and his 'Nanny', Joni Dupuy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim & Jewel Moreau and Charles & Carolyn Kirkfield; brother-in-law, Wayne "Bubba" Bourliea; and cousin, Josh Dupuy.
