Irma Cisia Allemand

Irma Cisia Allemand passed away on Holy Resurrection Day, April 5, 2026, in Holden, LA at the age of 80. She was born on February 26, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She and her husband raised their family in the New Orleans area, and relocated to the Northshore later in life. Irma Jean, as she was known by her customers and loved ones, drove the bus for Roseland Academy where her two young daughters attended school. She later obtained her cosmetology license, and went on to open her own successful business, Irma Jean’s Skin and Nail Salon. Irma was proud of her shop and loved serving her clients, many of whom remained friends even after she retired. Her talents extended far beyond cosmetology, and she was gifted at sewing, baking, cake decorating, and cooking. She shared these crafts with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irma was many things, but she loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother the most, and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Allemand Galjour, and April Edwards, grandchildren Jasmine Galjour, Michael Galjour (Emily), great grandchildren Christopher J. Galjour, Eliska Galjour, Chance Chauvin, Michael Knight, and Chico Galjour.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Roger Dominick, and her husband, Michael Allemand.

Family and friends will be received at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 30300 Catholic Hall Road, Albany, Louisiana 70711 on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 9:30 am until mass begins at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow at Rosaryville Mausoleum in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
