Iris "Laura" Boarman Bresher

Iris (Laura) Evelyn Boarman Bresher, daughter of James Wise Boarman Sr. and Mary Muscolino Boarman was born on December 13, 1948, in Washington D.C. She was a loving mother of two sons, Jeffery and Donald Anderson. Iris was preceded in death by her son Donald (Donnie), and her 2 sisters Grace Alice Morrill and Mary Jane Boarman. She is survived by her three brothers Charles Roy Boarman, James Wise Boarman Jr. and David Gary Boarman. Iris is also a proud grandmother of 1 grandson, Dustin Anderson. She was just like her mother and had a very gentle spirit and was a very kind person.

Iris left the Southern Maryland area in early adulthood and spent most of her life in the South. She worked for Charter Communications/Spectrum for 30 years. After retiring, Iris worked part-time for Walgreens on North Morrison Boulevard in Hammond, Louisiana.

Iris never missed an opportunity to return home to Maryland to visit family and friends. Family was very important to her. She never missed family reunions and looked forward to coming back to Maryland to attend her high school reunions. Iris was a graduate of LaPlata High School in Charles County Maryland. Laura, as Iris came to be known later in life, was an avid animal lover and loved dogs and fed the local cat population where she lived in Hammond, Louisiana, with her partner Johnny Creel.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
