Irene Carter Holland

Irene Carter Holland, 90 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Belle Maison Nursing Home in Hammond. She was born on Monday, October 31, 1927, in Liverpool, England to George and Florence Taylor Carter. Irene enjoyed life and loved gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, movie stars, watching old movies and cooking, it’s been said she could fry a mean chicken, but she especially loved spending time with her family. 

Irene is survived by her daughter, Donna Fabre and her husband Timmy, her son, Eric Holland and his wife Jennifer, her grandchildren, John Greenlee and his fiancé Karen, Christie Blanco and her husband Mark and Erica Wright and her husband Kenny, her great grandchildren, Blaine, Bradley and Braxton Greenlee and an angel on the way, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Taylor Carter, her husband, Robert E. Holland and her brother, Eric Carter. 

A Visitation for Irene will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula.  A Funeral Service Celebrating Irene’s Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hammond.
