Huey Elrey Byers

Huey Elrey Byers, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the age of 84. He was born on Thursday, April 15, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Huey was a lifelong resident of Bedico, Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Huey also loved Bluegrass Music and Andy Griffith.

Huey is survived by his children, Huey S. Byers, Nannette Byers Carter and her husband Dean, Amy M. Byers, and Leah B. Rogers; grandchildren, Ashley Byers Martin, Dustin S. Byers, Devin Carter, Ally Carter, Christian Bunn, Zachary Rucker, Garrette Rogers, and Noah Rogers; and great-grandchild, Alice Kennedy Martin. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mae Byers; and granddaughter, Lacey Preis.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.

Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Bedico, Louisiana.
