Howard Curtis Wells

Howard Curtis Wells passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 80. He was born on Wednesday, June 13, 1945, in Hammond, Louisiana, to the late Golda Caroline Poche and Wallace William Wells, Sr. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Howard was a retired chemical operator for DuPont, where he worked for many years with dedication and pride. After retiring, he continued to serve his community by working part-time for 15 years with the Tangipahoa Parish Government. He was also a proud Army National Guard veteran. Howard was devoted to his family and held them close to his heart. He was a proud and faithful member of French Corner Baptist Church, where he found comfort, community, and purpose. Howard loved his cat, Kitty Cat, who was always by his side as he watched the birds. He cherished the peace of the outdoors and found joy in nature.

Howard is survived by his brothers, Carl Raymond Wells (Sandra Dominguez Wells) and David Poche Wells, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace William Wells, Sr.; mother, Golda Poche Wells; sister, Carolyn Faust Daigle (E.J. Daigle); brother, Wallace “Sonny” Wells, Jr. (JoeAnn Baham); and nephew, Kerry “Skipper” Wells.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, LA 70454. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at French Corner Baptist Church, 39715 Teal Rd., Ponchatoula, LA 70454, from 10:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am, officiating the service will be Bro. Eric Hattaway and Rev. Gary Dennis.

Internment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula, La.

Pallbearers are Parker Wells, Bobby Wells, Layne Gill, Phil Daigle, Johnny Dunaway, and Kevin Wells. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Harper and Don Senft.
