Henry Simon

Henry Simon, a resident of Ponchatoula, LA, was born September 18, 1937, in Gueydan, LA, to the late Dejean Simon and Marguerite Adam Simon. Henry graduated in 1956 from Gueydan High School. He passed away at his home July 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Henry is survived by his wife, Maryjane Bitter Simon; daughter, Rhonda Louise Simon Blanchard; son Chandler Gene Simon; stepsons, Jeffrey Rooney, David Rooney, and Timothy Barnes; step daughter, Patricia Morse; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry is preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Jene Simon; son, Brian Nathaniel Simon; first wife, Arthurine Mary Bertrand; 6 brothers, Wilson, Nelson, William, Ceasar "Sammy", Joe, Cleopha and Oran Simon and 2 sisters, Eunice Vincent and Mary Elliot. He retired from Entergy Louisiana and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and cooking. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 41257 I-55 Frontage Road, Hammond.
