Helen Lott Latino, age 71, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at home in Hammond. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Albert John "A.J." Lott and Clara McCrory Lott and her sister BettyLott Schilling.
Helen is survived by her loving husband Benny Latino, Jr., her son Benny Latino III, daughters Lisa Latino Tallia and her husband John "Skipper" Tallia and Tina Latino and her husband Paul Jones, Her grandchildren, Laurel Tallia, Brenden Latino, Benny "Ben" Latino, IV, her sisters Dorothy Lott Cutrer and Evelyn Lott Sanders, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives that she touched. Helen was the owner of "All That Glitters", worked for Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department, a member of Northshore Doll Club, Creative Minds Writer's Group, Cub and Girl Scout Leader, an avid reader, artist, writer and an advocate for the U.S. Veterans. Helen loved traveling the world with her family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and continue Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Helen's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial of Helen's cremains will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes all memorial donations be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 810 Vermont Ave. NW, Washington DC 20420 in Helen's memory. Helen's guest book can be viewed at www.harrymckneely.com
